These terms cover your use of chinatripshelf.com. By reading the site you accept them. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.
What this site is
China Trip Shelf is an independent travel guide written for people planning a trip to China. It is editorial content: descriptions, route suggestions, practical logistics and links to booking pages run by other companies.
It is not a travel agency, a tour operator or a booking platform. We do not sell tickets, arrange transport, hold reservations or handle payments. Every booking is made with, and governed by the terms of, the partner or operator you book with.
Information is a starting point, not a guarantee
Prices, opening hours, ticket rules, visa and entry requirements and transport schedules change — often at short notice, and sometimes without any public announcement. We check what we can and date our checks, but always confirm the current rule on the official source before you rely on it: the attraction's own site, the railway or airline, the embassy or the immigration authority.
Travel involves risk we cannot assess for you — weather, closures, crowds, health, local conditions, your own fitness and experience. You are responsible for the decisions you make and for your own safety and insurance.
Content licence
The text we wrote is ours. You may quote short passages with a link back to the page you took them from, and you may share links freely. You may not republish whole articles, bulk-copy the site, or feed it into a product that resells our content without written permission. If you want to translate or republish something, ask us — we usually say yes.
Photographs are a mix of our own images and images from free-licence libraries. Credits, where they are required, appear in the article or in the image caption. Images are not covered by the paragraph above.
Links and affiliate relationships
Articles link to third-party sites, some of them through affiliate links. What that means for you, and which partners we work with, is set out in full on the affiliate disclosure page. In short: a commission may be paid to us, the price you pay is unchanged, and no partner reviews or approves our content.
We do not control third-party sites. Their content, prices, availability and privacy practices are theirs, and their terms apply once you follow a link.
Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, mirror or systematically copy the site, or use automated tools in a way that degrades it for other readers.
- Do not attempt to gain access to systems or areas you are not meant to reach.
- Do not reuse our name, logo or content in a way that suggests we endorse your product or service.
No warranty, and limits
The site is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it is complete, current or free of errors, or that it will be available without interruption. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the site or from reliance on something you read here — including missed openings, changed prices, cancelled transport or bookings made with a third party.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms; the current version always lives on this page with the date below. If a change is significant we will note it on the page.
